Morning Assembly on comeback trail Morning Assembly is set to return to full training in the next few days with the Crabbie's Grand National as his ultimate aim. A Grade One winner as a novice hurdler for Pat Fahy, the eight-year-old was right up with the best as a novice chaser. He finished third to O'Faolains Boy in the 2014 RSA Chase and filled the same position in the Punchestown equivalent behind Carlingford Loch. Having been off the track since then, though, it has been a long road to recovery. "He's coming back to me in the next few days," said Fahy. "He's been doing all his pre-training down the road at Ballyhane and he'll come back in great shape. "All the slow work has been done so that when he gets here we can crack on with him, the word is he's perfect. "At the stage he's at, if I have him a month I think we'll be ready for his first big gallop, but even then we'd go steady as he's a good work horse. "By February I'd be hoping to run him - we'll all get together and make a decision. I'd like to start him off at Punchestown, I think, as he's always run well there. "He'll have an entry in the English Grand National. He's rated high enough to get in, he's got the class but you still need luck, of course."
