Moscow Flyer Faces Tough Task In Tingle Creek

Jessica Harrington is hopeful for a good run from her stable-start Moscow Flyer at Sandown on Saturday in what will be the eight-year-old's toughest race yet.

He confirmed himself as the leading two-mile novice of last season when landing the Arkel at Cheltenham in impressive fashion. Now he attempts to confirm himself as a leading contender for the Champion Chase.

He made a victorious return to action at Down Royal last month but faces his toughest task to date when he tackles reigning champion Flagship Uberalles and Edredon Bleu in the Mitsubishi Shogun Tingle Creek Trophy at the weekend.

'I was delighted with how he jumped at Down Royal, it wasn`t very nice ground that day, and he jumped well here the other day,' Mrs Harrington told attheraces on Wednesday.

'It`s very different jumping against novices which he did last year. He`s now against very experienced horses and I hope that he`ll jump well. He`s eight now and I think that he`s stronger and he seems to be well in himself.

'It`s a stiff track at Sandown but I think he stays well. When he won at Down Royal it was the fist time he had won for me over further than two miles. I think he will stay well and I just hope everything goes alright.'

Interestingly, Moscow Flyer was well-backed on Tuesday for the Queen Mother Champion Chase.

Coral reported one betting shop punter in Brighton placing #2000 on the Moscow Society gelding at 4-1 to win the two-mile championship next March.
