Mountainous considered for Newbury Last season's Coral Welsh Grand National hero Mountainous could be in action at Newbury on Saturday. Connections are considering the Ultima-Proud Sponsors Of Alan King Handicap Chase over three and a quarter miles for the 10-year-old, who was sixth to Lie Forrit in the Betfred National Trial at Haydock on his latest start. Mountainous holds an entry in the Crabbie's Grand National but is unlikely to make the maximum 40-strong field for the world's greatest steeplechase at Aintree on April 11. He did make the cut last season but fell at Valentine's on the first circuit. "He's probably going to go to Newbury," said trainer Richard Lee's wife Carol. "We're aiming for the National but I don't think we'll get in. We're number 74 in the list. It's very borderline, I'd say."
