Mr Boss Man gets Kilbeggan compensation Mr Boss Man fell when well in contention at Punchestown but he made no mistake today in the three mile one handicap chase at Kilbeggan. The nine-year-old gelding made all under Roger Loughran and had enough artillery to see off Garrai Phaidin who looked a big danger when he closed at the second last. Mr Boss Man (9/1) travelled the better of the two coming to the last though, and stayed on well on the short run-in to win by three parts of a length. Garrai Phaidin was a 7/1 chance with Rock On Fruity a further half a length back in third at 6/1. Trainer Nigel Slevin said: “That made up for the last day and I thought he was a winner without a penalty coming here. The handicapper can’t be too hard on him for that and he’s been a great old servant. “There is a hurdle race in Bellewstown that he could go for and he’ll mix it between fences and hurdles. “My day job is a farrier and I have seven in training at the moment.” Phil's Magic, the well backed 5/1 favourite, finished fourth.
