Mullins hoping Cross is none the worse after fall Emmet Mullins was hoping Corbetts Cross would be 'none the worse' following his dramatic exit at Fairyhouse yesterday. The Gamut gelding was sent to post a 1/4 shot in the rated chase on Wednesday. He was moving into contention when getting brought down three from home after Run Wild Fred jumped right at the fence and the two collided. Paddy Power reacted by pushing Corbetts Cross out to 7/1 from 7/2 for the National Hunt Chase at Cheltenham. “He seems okay, little bumps and bruises but he should be none the worse,” Mullins updated a few races later. When asked if he'd still be on course for Cheltenham he added:- “We can't really say at the moment. We'll see what he's like when he cools down and take it one day at a time.”
