Mullins primes Faugheen for Punchestown Willie Mullins believes the Stan James Morgiana Hurdle at Punchestown in three weeks' time is an ideal first staging post for Faugheen. The unbeaten seven-year-old, winner of the Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham in March, is likely to fill the void left by former Mullins ace Hurricane Fly, who won the Morgiana for the last three seasons. Faugheen could be joined in the Grade One by stablemates Thousand Stars, who won the race in 2011, Nichols Canyon, Arctic Fire, Annie Power and Wicklow Brave. "The Morgiana has been an ideal debut for our Champion Hurdle horses in the past," Mullins told the Daily Mail. "It certainly seemed to suit Hurricane Fly and we hope that Faugheen and a couple of others will start off their campaign there. "Hopefully Faugheen will lead our team."
