Mick Mulvany thinks Passing Trade is his “best chance” of a winner at the four-day July Festival at Bellewstown which gets under way on Wednesday.

The daughter of Raven’s Pass is entered in the Devenish Nutrition Fillies Handicap over an extended seven furlongs on Thursday — a race Mulvany landed last year with My Silver Nails on his way to a treble on the card.

She arrives on the back of a solid runner-up spot in Limerick and her sole success came over course and distance on this card last year.

In addition, the handicapper has dropped her 1lb since Limerick.

The trainer said: “The intention is to go there on Thursday and I think she is my best chance.

“She is in good form and we are hoping for a good run as she has been second twice in her last four runs.

“She is a well-balanced filly and has no problems handling the ups and downs in Bellewstown. She also has no problem travelling early which is a help there.

“The owner is anxious to go (back) to Bellewstown.”
