Murphy Has Thyestes Target Again My Murphy has a repeat victory in the Thyestes Chase at Gowran as his main aim this season. Liam Burke's stable star beat Mala Beach in the feature handicap last January and has only run once since, in the Irish National. Burke has identified a couple of possible other races to take in beforehand, with an outing at Navan in December likely. "He ran at Navan last year in that Grade C and he might run in it again this year. Navan seems to be his best track, and there is of course the Troytown as well," said Burke. "The Thyestes is his main aim again. I don't know why but he seems to be at his best in that. I ran him in Leopardstown twice and it was a waste of time. The big fields like in the Irish National just don't suit him. "Gowran suits him and with the helter skelter he is able to be there because the ground is so heavy. In the Irish National he just doesn't have the foot. "He is in great order, but he is rated 148 so he is kind of in no man's land."
