My Manekineko continues to defy his 12 years and bagged his second win of the year, and his eight in total, when landing Sligo's Easkey Handicap Hurdle for trainer James Nash and jockey Gavin Brouder today.

The son of Authorized won his first race at Yarmouth in 2014 and since joining Nash has bagged seven more, and today followed up a Downpatrick March win, at odds of 20/1.

Nash later commented “he ran great in Galway where he got into a bit of trouble going to the second last but, at this stage, you don’t know when he’s going to turn up or not. He hasn’t won as many races as some other horses, but he’s been in the frame over forty times which is incredible.

“His enthusiasm is great. He had his two ears pricked today and Gavin said he got a bit keen with him at one stage.

“It’s great for Gavin as well. He’s been unlucky to get so many falls over the last year or so and he’ll get his turn. He’s a very, very good rider and just needs a little bit of luck.”
