This afternoon’s meeting at Navan goes ahead following an early morning inspection.

The fixture had been placed in doubt following significant rainfall over the past few days, but officials gave it the all clear at 7.30 this morning.

Clerk of the Course Paddy Graffin said, “There was a further 3mm of rain since we called the inspection yesterday morning but thankfully the rain stopped here at around lunchtime, despite it continuing in other local areas around us.

“The team here at Navan have done an outstanding job on the track and there is no longer any standing water.

“The ground remains heavy, and will be testing, but racing today goes ahead.”

There are two Graded races on the seven-race card with the Grade 2 BoyleSports Webster Cup Chase and the Grade 3 Flyingbolt Novice Chase.

The action gets underway at 1.35pm.
