Newcastle Off Officials at Newcastle have abandoned Wednesday afternoon's meeting following a third inspection at 12.15pm. Clerk of the course James Armstrong called an impromptu 9am inspection after a colder-than-anticipated night at Gosforth Park. After that assessment proved inconclusive, he then checked the situation again two hours later. Although temperatures continued to rise during the day, parts of the track were still unraceable by the time Armstrong inspected the course a third time.
