Newfangled update Vets are continuing to investigate the full extent of Newfangled's injuries after she broke down badly in Thursday's Lowther Stakes at York. John Gosden's filly was a brilliant winner of the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot and was expected to strengthen her position as ante-post favourite for next year's 1000 Guineas with another victory on the Knavesmire. However, William Buick pulled up his mount after a couple of furlongs after she suffered a serious pelvis injury. John Ferguson, racing advisor for Newfangled's owner Princess Haya of Jordan, said on Friday morning: "The vets are still investigating at this stage. "We know she has got a serious pelvis injury. "She has made it through the night but obviously it is a dangerous time at the moment. Fingers crossed she'll be all right."
