Next generation keeping famous Berry racing name to the fore In the colours of his uncle Darragh Josh Berry rode his first racecourse winner when the Benny Walsh-handled Richieandsams Lady showed stamina in abundance to land the Clayton Hotel Mares INH Flat Race at Sligo. On the defection of Willie Mullins' Shadows Of My Mind this race opened up markedly, and point-to-point winner Richieandsams Lady soon had pace-setter Isthatrightkatie in her sights. Favourite Sing My Story was the one she had to chiefly concern her from before the straight. To her credit the successful Lauro mare kept up the gallop from over a furlong out to prevail by three lengths. “I’ve ridden 11 winners in point-to-points but that’s my first winner on the track and just my second ride. To ride it for my uncle (Darragh) is great," said the young Wexford pilot.   “She loved that ground and can stay three miles no bother.   “I ride out at home for my father, John Paul Berry, and for a few local lads near home.” The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer reported to the Raceday Stewards that following the withdrawal of Not Leaving Yet from race seven on veterinary advice, trainer Robert Murphy had verbally abused her and later reported that the trainer had returned and apologised for his actions, which she had accepted. The raceday Stewards interviewed Robert Murphy who accepted the report. Having considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards found Robert Murphy to be in breach of Rule 272 (iii) and considering his clean record in this regard and in light of his apology, they cautioned him on this occasion.
