Ana O'Brien finished down the field in the inaugural Lady Jockeys' World Championship in Sweden on Tuesday evening.

O'Brien represented Ireland in the five-race competition at Bro Park near Stockholm but she failed to land a significant blow as French rider Maryline Eon claimed the title.

O'Brien said: "I had a bit of fun anyway."

Sammy Jo Bell, representing Northern Ireland, fared better in securing a second and a third place.

The French rider, Eon, won two of the five races to secure the crown. Sara Slot of Denmark finished second and Danielle Johnson from New Zealand took third place in the overall competition.
