On her attempt at three on the bounce, Abby Cadabby was just third in the market behind Empress Toorah and Kabjoy However that pair had to settle for the minor roles behind the progressive Connor King-ridden Jeremy filly in the Connolly's Red Mills Horse Care Cubes Handicap at Roscommon.

On the testing ground it looked like it might be a long last two furlongs for Abby Cadabby but once on the rail she wasn't for pegging back and she came home three parts of a length and six lengths in front of the aforementioned Kabjoy and Empress Toorah.

Winning trainer Any Oliver stated: "We're delighted. She's a tough honest filly and Connor gave her a great ride. It was very straightforward.

"It was a lot to ask to come back for three races in just over a week but it's just testament to her honesty.

"We'll just see how she progresses now in the handicap. Although she runs in Ger's (fellow trainer Lyons) colours, there's three of us involved, Ger, Eddie Lynam and myself – we all own an equal third.

"We bought three fillies at the sale for the Muppets Syndicate and Ger's won last year, there's this one and Eddie's hasn't made it to the track but we won't hold that against him – much!

The possibility of a dual purpose is there for Abby Cadabby with Oliver saying: "I'll think she'll come into her own when she gets a mile and a half.

"We'll see as regards hurdling as she was bought for the syndicate for a bit of fun. It's been tremendous craic the whole thing – the idea was to sell again eventually so presumably that's what we'll do.

"We're not in any hurry as she's giving us great enjoyment." (DM & EM)
