Nolan hoping Paddy will bounce back to form

Paul Nolan is weighing up the options for Shinrock Paddy after his disappointing run in the Albert Bartlett Novices' Hurdle.

The six-year-old was pulled up before the eighth flight at Cheltenham, but Nolan is pleased with how his charge has returned home and while he holds an entry in Sunday's Rathbarry & Glenview Studs Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse, he may instead wait for the Punchestown Festival.

The trainer said: "He seems to have come back from Cheltenham fine and hopefully he'll be out in the next few weeks. Nothing really came to light and we're just putting it down as one of those days, so hopefully he can put it right the next day."

He continued: "We don't think Cheltenham took too much out of him so we'll have to look at Fairyhouse and Punchestown.

"We're biting our finger nails hoping he can bounce back and we'll have to make our minds up shortly what we're going to do, but maybe he'd be more likely to go to Punchestown."

If he does line up this weekend he is sure to face a thorough examination, with a high-class total of 16 entries being made for the Grade Two affair.

Willie Mullins could run Morning Supreme and Blackstairmountain, the latter another who needs to bounce back after disappointing in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham.

Luska Lad, Sweeps Hill and Loosen My Load are other interesting contenders.
