O'Brien Mulling Duty Target

Kevin O'Brien is in no rush to nominate a target for Duty after his impressive success at Gowran Park on Saturday.

The four-year-old was sent off at 9-2 for the two-mile Shantou At Burgage Stud Maiden Hurdle and landed the odds by a comfortable five and a half lengths under Davy Russell.

Having already achieved a decent level of form on the Flat, it was no surprise that the taking victory earned the Rainbow Quest gelding a quote of 25-1 from William Hill for the JCB Triumph Hurdle.

However, O'Brien is not yet sure whether he will target his charge at that particular contest.

'He was quite impressive and we could be tempted (by the Triumph) ? but we'll see how he comes on in the next two or three weeks,' he said.

'There's plenty of races coming up for him at places like Fairyhouse and Liverpool and the Triumph Hurdle is just a race of it's own.

'It's tight enough round Cheltenham in a big field and that just might not suit him.

'He was a decent horse on the Flat. He won for Sir Michael Stoute and was second three or four times as well so he has the form.'
