O'Brien and Sheridan Combine in Finale to Complete Down Royal double The Joseph O'Brien-trained Teologia, the 15/8 favourite, was a tough winner of the Boylesports Maiden at Down Royal. Breaking from stall nine, jockey Joey Sheridan guided the daughter of Teofilo into a handy position, tracking the leaders before getting her head in front in the final furlong to defeat the Andy Slattery-trained Nermal by a length and a quarter. Speaking after the race, stable representative Mick Halford said: "Joey said there she is progressing with every run. "Just the cheekpieces helped her around here, she travelled better. "He moved out and got a lovely smooth run, kept it lovely and smooth on her, and she hit the line well. "It is lovely that she got her head in front and she is progressive, so we will just take baby steps with her I'd say for the time being. "He is riding really, really well. He has loads of confidence. "He's a big part of the team. When Dylan (Browne McMonagle) was out, himself and Declan (McDonogh) were sharing the rides. They are both a great help to us."
