O'Brien expects more from York runners Aidan O'Brien believes there is plenty of improvement in Starspangledbanner after he finished fifth in the Duke of York Stakes on Wednesday. The Australian sprinter was having his first start for the Ballydoyle handler in the Group Two contest but he tired into fifth, having raced prominently. O'Brien said: "We were happy with Starspangledbanner in York, he showed plenty of pace in the race but settled well. "Johnny (Murtagh) said that he just got a little bit tired in the last half furlong. "He should come on a lot for the run and if everything is well with him, we will aim him next for the Golden Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot." O'Brien's Cabaret disappointed in the Musidora Stakes on the same card, but the trainer also expects her to be fitter for the outing. "Cabaret also got a little bit tired in the last furlong in the Musidora Stakes, she will hopefully improve from the run," O'Brien told www.coolmore.com.
