O'Brien has strong entry in Futurity

Aidan O'Brien is set to mount a strong bid to land the Group 2 Galileo EBF Futurity Stakes for the eighth time at the Curragh on Saturday as the Ballydoyle trainer has half of the 18 horses left in at the five-day stage.

Impressive course winner David Livingston, along with other recent maiden winners Astrology, Daddy Long Legs and Furner’s Green would appear to be the pick of them.

Jessica Harrington saddled subsequent National Stakes winner Pathfork to land the prize 12 months ago, and she is represented this year by Dragon Pulse. The son of Kyllachy has been supplemented at a cost of €9,500 to the race, and opened his account in a Leopardstown maiden last month.

The Eddie Lynam-trained French Emperor and Dermot Weld’s Riviera Poet are two others well worth a mention in the seven furlong contest.

There are also 18 entries for the Listed Irish Field St Leger Trial Stakes including the O’Brien-trained Ascot Gold Cup winner Fame And Glory. The latter is one of six entries in the race for his trainer, who can also choose between Admiral Of The Red, Apache, Long Live The King, Nantucket Bay and Regent Street.

Meanwhile, the Listed thetote.com Curragh Stakes has attracted 12 entries including An Ghalanta, Captain Obvious, Experience, Lady Rochford and Rockview Diamond.

The first on a seven race card goes to post at 2.10 pm, and the ground at the Curragh is currently good to yielding.
