Aidan O'Brien feels Johann Strauss' luck can turn for the better in the £200,000 Tattersalls Millions 3-Y-O Trophy at Newmarket on Thursday.

The son of High Chaparral goes into this race as one of the best maidens around, but he has every chance judged on his second place behind Kingston Hill in the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster on his final start as a juvenile.

He looked most unfortunate on his reappearance at Leopardstown just two weeks ago, when he struggled to get a clear run and had to settle for third spot behind Fiscal Focus over a mile.

"Johann Strauss gained some valuable experience last year and finished off with a storming run in the Racing Post Trophy," said the Ballydoyle trainer.

"He was unlucky on his first run back this season but still showed plenty of promise.

"He seems to have come out of it in good form so we're hoping he'll run well again."

Kingston Hill's trainer Roger Varian saddles Kempton maiden winner Emaratiya Ana.

While the Excellent Art filly has plenty to find on ratings, there is plenty of prize-money on offer down to sixth place.

"She has a lot to do on official figures but she looks and has been training well and will not disgrace herself," the Newmarket handler told www.varianstable.com.
