Navassa Island, who made an eye-catching debut in second in the Group 3 Coolmore Stud EBF (Fillies) Sprint Stakes at Naas on Sunday, looks to have booked her ticket to Royal Ascot.

The Territories juvenile ran on strongly in the final furlong to get to within a neck of the winner.

Trainer Michael O’Callaghan said: “She is a lovely filly. We thought she had plenty of talent at home and pitched her in the deep end.

"She just figured things out a fraction too late, but maybe she is better off not winning first time out.

“She’ll probably go straight for the Albany now in different colours. She’ll run for Ama Zing Team and stays with us.”

She ran in the colours of the trainer on her debut outing.
