O'Connell out for a month with knee injury Brian O'Connell faces at least three to four weeks on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury following a heavy fall at Galway on Monday. The Grade One-winning rider sustained the setback after parting company with the Patrick Neville-trained Millstream Ned at the third-last in the WB Gavin & Co EBF Beginners Chase. O'Connell said: "I went for a scan on Tuesday with the specialist and there is still plenty of bruising and swelling around the knee. I have got to let the swelling go down and I have to go back in three or four weeks time for another scan." He added: "It could be that I am OK after that time but there is a possibility that I have suffered ligament damage. I will find out more when I have my next scan."
