Ocastle completes quick double for Mullins & Townend Just five lined up for Listowel’s Kinisla Kerrymaid Rated Novice Steeplechase, over two and a quarter miles, but the race produced a good finish with Ocastle Des Mottes justifying 5/4 favouritism. The Galway beginners’ winner raced up front throughout with Sky Lord for company, and the pair were joined by Apple’s Of Bresil between the final two fences with the outcome hard to call at that point. After getting the best jump of the three at the last, Ocastle Des Mottes, in the double green colours of Simon Munir and Issac Souede, went on to beat Apple’s Of Bresil by a length and a quarter with the same gap back to Sky Lord in third. "Having won in Galway, it shows how versatile he is to win going left-handed on a flat track today,” said winning trainer Willie Mullins, doubling up along with jockey Paul Townend after Run Ted Run’s success in the previous contest. "He likes that trip. but Paul felt he'd like more of a dig in the ground. It took him six runs to win over fences but he is a forward-going two-miler and we are only now learning how to train him. "Paul felt the ground on the chase track was a little drier." Additional reporting by Tom Weekes
