Oisin Murphy set for triumphant return to Killarney Star jockey Oisin Murphy returns to his home town of Killarney this evening with a strong book of six rides. The 30-year-old Kerryman is in top form in the saddle having ridden five winners at Windsor on Monday and looks almost certain to visit the winners' enclosure again this evening. Celtic Motif Spearheads Strong Book of Rides Murphy partners hot-favourite Celtic Motif for Joseph O'Brien in the opening maiden race for fillies at 5.09pm. The four-year-old looks a cut above today's opposition on her best form and the bookies are taking no changes with early quotes of 1/5. Tyraxes, at more punter-friendly odds of 3/1, is Murphy's mount in the second race on the card, The Hotel Killarney Maiden at 5.40pm. Tyraxes was half a length behind today's rival Coul Dreamer when the pair clashed over this course and distance in May. Trainer Brendan Duke will be hoping the assistance of Oisin Murphy will bring him a change of luck when the pair team up with Zheleznaya Dama in the 3-year-old handicap at 6.10pm. Duke hasn't trained a winner since September 2024, but had a horse go close here yesterday and this filly has been installed the 5/2 favourite for today's contest. Murphy's mount Elusive Duke (15/8) is another favourite he partners at Killarney today. The grey gelding has been knocking at the door lately with two runner-up efforts and if today's drop in distance doesn't inconvenience him, he looks to have a solid chance in the 6.40pm race. Saga Gaga gave owner/breeder Danny Leen of Blackbox Bloodstock his first track winner when scoring at Gowran Park last month and the in-form filly is the mount of Oisin Murphy in the fifth race on the card at 7.10pm. The 11/4 shot makes her handicap debut today off a mark of 90. Oisin Murphy's final mount of the evening at Killarney comes aboard Satono Chevalier for Limerick trainer Michael Flannery in the 7.40pm. The 8-year-old has won two of his three starts since joining Flannery this season, but will have to defy a career-high mark of 83 if he is to add to his tally with Murphy in the saddle this evening.
