One Cool Cat injured

One Cool Cat suffering a career ending leg injury on the Ballydoyle gallops this morning.

The Storm Cat colt was having a final piece of work prior to a possible crack at the ?Abbaye? in Longchamp on Sunday.

He suffered a condylar fracture to his near hind and, after undergoing an operation at Troytown this afternnoon, the prognosis is said to be ´very good´.

It is yet to be decided whether he will stand at Ashford Stud in Kentucky or at Coolmore´s Irish base.

The Group 1 winning juvenile has had a restricted campaign this year due to well-publicised heart problems, although he was a strong-finishing third in the Nunthorpe Stakes at York last month.

Aidan O´Brien said, ´It´s highly unfortunate that his racing career has come to an end as I´d always hoped that one day he would display on the racecourse the brilliance he´s always shown us at home.´
