Options open for Cornerstone A number of top-level options remain open for First Cornerstone following his victory in the Group Two Futurity Stakes at the Curragh. The Andrew Oliver-trained colt, recently purchased by American syndicate Team Valor, already holds entries in the Juddmonte Beresford Stakes at the Curragh on September 30 and the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster on October 27. Other races that will come under consideration are the Goffs Vincent O'Brien Stakes at the Curragh on September 15, the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere on Arc day, and the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf in early November. "We were delighted and he's come out of the race very well," said Oliver. "He did it well the other day. He did what he had to do. He did it workmanlike and in very pleasing fashion. "It's entirely up to the new owners Team Valor. "I have been speaking to Barry Irwin of Team Valor and all options are still open." Irwin said: "I'll have a talk with Andy in about a week and see how the horse is doing. "I'm reluctant to run in three weeks as he only had two weeks between his last two races. "I think a good race for a horse like this would be the race on Arc day going seven furlongs, the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere. "Usually it rains over there and he can handle that, no problem. "He likes the distance and he can come from off the pace. That would be a good race. "I'm pretty sure we'll leave the horse with Andy over the winter and run him there next year."
