Oscar could return in Champion Silent Oscar is a "possibility" for the Toshiba Irish Champion Hurdle at Leopardstown on Sunday. The Harry Rogers-trained 10-year-old has been sidelined by injury since defeating Macs Joy, Hardy Eustace and Harchibald in the 2007 ACCBank Champion Hurdle. If Silent Oscar does make his first appearance for 639 days, Rogers is far from enthusiastic about his chances first time up after so long off the track. "He's been back on the road for five months and is going the right way," said the County Lough handler. "It was a big disappointment when he got injured because horses like this only come around once in a lifetime. "Saying that, he's still a young horse and has no mileage on the clock. "He's in the race, and is a possibility, but he's a better horse on better ground. "If he doesn't run, he'll probably go for the Red Mills Hurdle at Gowran Park (February 14th). "He's worked on the track and has done plenty of slow, hard graft. "But being so long off the track, he's definitely going to need the run - all of his best runs have also been in April and May time. "Robbie Power will ride him if he runs," Rogers told At The Races.
