The Shark Hanlon trained I See You Well caused a 25/1 upset to win the opening Book Hospitality Online Maiden Hurdle at Naas today, making most of the running, under jockey Brian Hayes.

The son of Air Chief Marshal was strongly pressed by eventual runner-up English Pale at the final flight but rallied gamely on the run-in before scoring a half length win.

Afterwards Hanlon said “he did it well for the first time over hurdles and jumped well; it wasn’t a bad maiden hurdle and you never get a bad maiden hurdle at Naas.

“He ran well here the last day when he led to the furlong pole in a good bumper.

“He’ll be for sale and will probably go to Brightwells in two weeks time. He’s a horse to look forward to, whoever’s going to be to training him because he’ll stay and stay and stay and will get further. He’s owned by Philip and Nanette Wheatley, from Wicklow, who have four horses with me and the plan with this horse was for him to be sold when he won.”
