Pallasator on the mark in Listed event The giant Pallasator got back to winning ways when outstaying Flying Officer in the Jockey Club Rose Bowl at Newmarket. Sir Mark Prescott's imposing five-year-old has finished fourth in the Ebor and seventh in the Irish St Leger since being bought by Qatar Racing, but this looked a good opportunity for him. Ridden by Andrea Atzeni, he was up with the pace from three furlongs out but John Gosden's lightly-raced Flying Officer appeared to have things in command when he moved up alongside. However, trying two miles for the first time appeared to stretch the George Strawbridge-owned four-year-old and the 11-8 favourite grabbed back the initiative to win by a length and a half. Prescott said of the Qatar Racing-owned gelding: "He's a difficult old thing, but he's got plenty of ability. "He has now won half of his races and he was bought to run in the stayers' race at Ascot on Champions Day, so that's where he'll go."
