Pandorama set for chase debut

Noel Meade is looking forward to seeing Grade One-winning hurdler Pandorama tackle fences for the first time under Rules in the Christmas Parties at Punchestown Beginners Chase on Tuesday.

The six-year-old, a winning point-to-pointer, has suffered only one defeat in six starts since joining Meade - and that came at the hands of the hugely impressive Mikael D'Haguenet.

Pandorama rounded off his campaign over timber with a runaway success in the Deloitte Novice Hurdle at Leopardstown.

Meade is hoping there will be even more to come from his charge now he is sent chasing.

"He's in great form and has schooled well so we're happy to go with him," said the County Meath handler.

"He's always looked like more of a chaser than a hurdler so hopefully he can carry that on this season.

"Obviously you would think he'd have a great chance of winning, but the main thing is he gets round and comes home in one piece."
