Prince Of Lir is likely to have his next start in the Prix Robert Papin as he bids to maintain his unbeaten record and follow up his victory in the Norfolk Stakes.

Trainer Robert Cowell has earmarked next month's Group Two over five and a half furlongs at Maisons-Laffitte as potential port of call for the two-year-old as opposed to an outing in the Molecomb Stakes at Glorious Goodwood.

After making a winning debut in a conditions contest at Beverley, the son of Kodiac took a step up in class in his stride when adding the Group Two prize at Royal Ascot to his name earlier this month.

Cowell said: "He will have a number of entries and I don't know for definite where he will go. I know that he will probably not go for the Molecomb because if it is on fast ground it will be too quick for him. He is a five-furlong horse but he is a grinder.

"I'd imagine the Prix Robert Papin in France over five and a half will be next. He is in the Nunthorpe but we will see about that. We may have to step him up to six furlongs by the end of the year."
