Trainer Paul Nolan is hoping that Sandor Clegane can return to something like his best form at Fairyhouse on Tuesday.

Twice successful over hurdles, the son of Fame And Glory has yet to open his account over fences despite finishing runner-up in graded races on a couple of occasions.

Last seen when mid-division in the Kerry National, the eight-year-old looks to hold leading claims reverting to a beginners' chase.

Nolan said: “He’s been disappointing and he has to resurrect himself.

“We didn’t think he’d be a handicapper at one stage and that’s what he looks like now.

“We thought we had him straight enough for Galway and we were disappointed the way he hit the line. In the Kerry National, he didn’t jump well enough and only for that I think he may have been third or fourth.

“We’re dropping him back in trip a bit and he’s had a couple of wind procedures. They will have to be successful to have him hitting the line that bit better.

“He’s going well at home, and the horses seem to be in good health, so he has no excuses.”
