Peregrine Run swoops at Cheltenham Peregrine Run notched a notable success for Irish-based trainer Peter Fahey in the Neptune Investment Management Hyde Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham. Thistlecrack's half-brother West Approach looked to have everything in trouble coming down the hill as he jumped with panache at the head of affairs. However, Peregrine Run's jockey Roger Loughran stalked the front-runner and he had not asked a question of his mount when he joined in running down to the last. He was made to fight as Wholestone battled past West Approach, but Peregrine Run (13-2) won by a length to claim a fourth victory on the spin. Loughran said: "That's my first ever winner here. I had a very willing partner. He's a proper horse and he's done it well. "Peter is a gentleman to ride for, he keeps it simple. "I don't know what's turned him around. He lost his way after winning his bumper but every time he has stepped up lately, he's taken it." Fahey said: "He was a good bumper horse but this season he's turned a corner. "Running him on soft ground probably didn't help, he likes nice ground and he won't be running through the winter. You'd like to be dreaming about coming back here in March."
