The colt was sent off the 13-2 outsider in the four-runner field. The Tom Dascombe-trained two-year-old, who cost £26,000 guineas, had run four times before the Wolverhampton race, finishing second on an earlier occasion. Rooney tweeted after the race: "Pippy. Yes well done." Michael Owen also tweeted saying: "Switcherooney will be out soon and Tomway runs tomorrow. Pippy seems to like the extra distance. Manor House is buzzing!"
