Wakai Umi double her career total when making all in the five-furlong nursery at Dundalk.

The 5/1 shot kept on strongly to post a two and a half length success from Escaping Thejungle (15/2). Vanguard Star (8/1) was another half a length back in third.

Jamie Powell rode out his 7lb claim on this winner.

Trainer Ciaran Murphy said: "She's a very quick filly and she has been the whole year.

"She was weak early on and she had a couple of okay runs but, once we got her straight before Naas, she has been very consistent.

"There's no question she is going to improve. She's an out-and-out five-furlong filly. We were hoping she would like the surface here and she did.

"Probably better ground suits her.

"Listen, the handicapper didn't miss her the first day - she got 9lb. It probably stopped her in Down Royal. He dropped her 1lb so we felt coming here with the 7lb off (Jamie Powell's claim) we were in a good place.

"There aren't many options for her over five but we'll have a look at the programme book and we won't rush her out. She's in the Sale, I'm not sure if she's going there or not or what the owners are going to plan. Fair play to the owners, they have been patient with her and let me do my think and I'm delighted with the result."
