Sole Power strives to win the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes at York on Friday for a third time.

Eddie Lynam's decorated sprinter is one of a maximum field of 20 declarations for the Group One, which he won 12 months ago.

He also struck gold at 100-1 in 2010 and will be ridden for the first time by Frankie Dettori.

Sharpo was the last horse to win a third Nunthorpe in 1982.

Giant American filly Acapulco bids to become another juvenile winner of the premier sprint.

Lyric Fantasy (1992) and Kingsgate Native (2007) took advantage of the juvenile allowances to land the five-furlong prize and Wesley Ward's American raider bids to follow in their hoofprints.

The Scat Daddy filly impressed many when she blazed a trail in the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot and with just 8st to shoulder, she is a hot favourite for jockey Irad Ortiz.

She is the only two-year-old in the line-up, which also features this year's King's Stand hero Goldream, who represents Robert Cowell.

Muthmir and Take Cover, first and second respectively in the King George Stakes at Goodwood, renew rivalry, while the likes of Stepper Point, Medicean Man and Pearl Secret also run.

Mecca's Angel is also in the mix following recent rain, as is Mattmu, but G Force is a notable absentee.

Caspian Prince, Red Baron and Iffranesia were the three eliminated horses at the final declaration stage.
