Power pleased with Dettori booking Paddy Power is delighted Frankie Dettori has been snapped up to ride his parents' horse Sole Power in the Coolmore Nunthorpe Stakes at York on Friday week. Marketing spokesman for the firm that bears his name, Power believes the popular Italian, who is having a dream season with a host of big-race victories, is the kind of jockey that brings the best out of Sole Power. The recently-retired Richard Hughes and Johnny Murtagh before him forged a successful relationship with the Eddie Lynam-trained sprinter. Their coolness in the saddle was tailor-made for Sole Power, whose scintillating turn of foot has earned him five Group One triumphs. Successful in the Nunthorpe in 2010 at 100-1 and 12 months ago when the 11-4 favourite, Sole Power bids to become the first three-time winner since Sharpo in 1982. "I'm delighted. I think he's a good booking for us because Frankie would be, obviously, a big-race jockey and he has probably never ridden with as much confidence as he is now," said Power. "We all know with Sole Power the more 'ballsy' the ride the better. "I think he will suit him down to the ground."
