Prendergast eyes Guineas trial for Awtaad Kevin Prendergast is looking forward to pitching Awtaad into a 2000 Guineas trial next spring after the Cape Cross colt opened his account at Leopardstown. The Hamdan Al Maktoum-owned youngster followed up his promising debut when he was third to Black Sea at the Curragh by signing off for the season with victory in a seven-furlong maiden last Sunday. "He's finished for the season. He'll probably appear in the spring in one of the Guineas trials," said Prendergast. "He's a nice horse and did it well the other day." The Co Kildare handler is targeting a spring campaign for another Sheikh Hamdan-owned horse, Mohaayed. The three-year-old son of Intikhab is likely to reappear in the Group Three Gladness Stakes at the Curragh in April after he, too, ended 2015 on a high at Gowran Park recently. "He came back and won well at Gowran," said Prendergast. "He'll be a spring horse again and we'll probably aim him at the Gladness."
