Preview CURRAGH 18TH SEP

Of course the Ballydoyle team registered a four-timer at Leopardstown on Champion Stakes Day and again the Co. Tipperary outfit have strong claims in as many contests at the Curragh on Sunday where the first of eight gets underway at 2.10.

Noted at the Foxrock venue eight days ago, when second to stable companion, Septimus, Arabian Prince can set the ball rolling in the opener. The fifth placed horse there, Wilman has since done his bit for the form by winning at Tipperary on Thursday. Most likely dangers to the selection would appear to be newcomer, Caribbean (by Sadler's Wells) and the promising once-raced, Takaamul.

Kieren Fallon s decision to ride Emerald Cat sways the vote in his favour in the Listed Laing O Rourke Solonaway Stakes. Reappearing after a 139 day break, the son of Storm Cat will encounter better ground than he s raced on to date. Easy winner of his maiden, he doesn t have anything like Indesatchel to contend with now. He found David Wachman s very smart performer six lengths his superior on heavy going in the Group 3 Tetrarch Stakes at this course in May.

First and second favourite in ante-post lists for next year s 2,000 Guineas, George Washington and Horatio Nelson do battle in the featured Group 1 Laing O'Rourke National Stakes. The former was brilliant when running away with the Phoenix Stakes here last month and more of the same is expected now. With a rating of 122, the selection has 11Ibs to spare over his nearest rival, Amigoni.

Elsewhere, Fallon can also be on the mark on Red Bloom in the Group 2 Irish National Stud Blandford Stakes. The selection has form that ties in closely with Alexander Goldrun, she was runner-up in a Group 2 when favourite at Deauville last time and should be difficult to upstage in this. Last season s Moyglare Stud Stakes heroine, Chelsea Rose has recaptured top form lately and she is a big danger to Red Bloom.

In the Listed Laing O'Rourke Blenheim Stakes, Dandy Man and Art Museum can dominate. Bred to be quick being by Mozart out of Lady Alexander (three times a winner at two for the same stable), Dandy Man has only one more win to find in order to match his dam, as he bids for a hat-trick now. With that experience under his belt, the Con Collins-trained colt can outpoint Art Museum, comfortable victor of a course and distance maiden a fortnight ago.
