Prince Of Air made every yard of the running to follow up last years victory in the concluding SETU Student Race Day Tomorrow April 14th Handicap Chase at Tramore.

Sent straight to the front by Shane O'Callaghan, the eight-year-old jumped particularly well on his way to a hard fought success over Onebrightbluerose

Sent off 7/2cf, the Charles Coakley trained gelding was strongly pressed by the eventual runner-up after two out.

However, to his credit, he found plenty for pressure when asked to go and win his race, staying on to beat Onebrightbluerose by half-a-length.

Charles Coakley: "He loves it here at Tramore, but we were worried because he hadn't been out in a while. It was kind of in our heads to go out in front, but Shane made up his mind for him. We will stick with chasing now because he seems to be enjoying himself. He might go for a stronger race somewhere now."

Pat O'Leary, who works with Coakley, added: "We were worried about the break, as he hadn't ran in a few months. We ran Itsalonglongroad in Limerick a few weeks ago after a break and he ran very well, so we thought this fella might be up for it today.

"Shane said he blew up at the top of the hill on the second circuit, but he filled him up again. Shane rides a lot for us and does well for us. He made a mistake at the second last but came back well from it and we're delighted."
