Proclamation Set For Sprint Test

Sussex Stakes hero Proclamation is set to drop back in trip and tackle the William Hill Sprint Cup at Haydock Park on September 3.

Jeremy Noseda´s three-year-old was last seen storming to success over a mile at Goodwood, having landed the seven-furlong Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot at York.

And the son of King´s Best, who is owned by Sheikh Mohammed´s wife Princess Haya, is now likely to try his hand over six furlongs in the Merseyside sprint.

'The William Hill Sprint at Haydock is the plan for Proclamation,' John Ferguson, bloodstock advisor to Sheikh Mohammed, told the Racing Post.

'We will take it one step at a time, but he has come out of the Sussex Stakes very well and both Johnny Murtagh who rode him at York when he won the Jersey Stakes, and Mick Kinane, who rode him at Goodwood, said he has the speed for a top sprint.'
