Puncher wins duel in last

Puncher Clynch showed admirable battling qualities to land the concluding 1m2f handicap at Dundalk.

The Jim Bolger-trained gelding got the better of Battleoftrafalgar inside the final furlong for a neck success under Kevin Manning.

"He did it very well. It was a good performance under 9st 10lb," said travelling head lad Ger Flynn.

"He's a nice horse and is improving. He's named after a Meath football manager and is a lovely horse with a great pedrigree.

"Kevin said he handled the surface really well and he could even step up in trip."
