Punchestown keen on Irish 'Triple Crown' Officials in Ireland are endeavouring to come up with a series similar to the British 'Chase Triple Crown' that was announced on Tuesday. Punchestown general manager Richie Galway revealed they have looked into the possibility of staging a series that would end at their Festival in late April, but are still seeking the right formula and incentive. His thoughts come hot on the heels of Jockey Club Racecourses offering a £1million bonus to any horse who can win the Betfair Chase, King George VI Chase and the Cheltenham Gold Cup. "We have the end of the season finish here, so you'd like to think you could build a series up to culminate at our Festival," Galway told At The Races. "We have looked at options but haven't come up with something that generates enough like they have in the UK. "It needs to be winnable and it needs to be valuable because obviously the type of horse that is going to go for that is not going to be risked for a small return. "We'll continue to look and wouldn't mind doing something. That's a huge pot and is winnable and achievable. It could be done by the right horse. "I'd love to see if we could end up with a series that culminates with one of our big races at the Festival because it's naturally the end of the season. "We will review again and it would be nice for any incentive to attract horses to us at our end-of-the-season Festival."
