Purview plans include Group One possibilities An outing on Irish Champions Weekend appears likely for Purview, with a move up to the top table in the Royal Bahrain Irish Champion Stakes one of two possible options. Dermont Weld’s son of Kingman has always been well regarded and having ended his three-year-old campaign on a high, has won both outings this term, showing versatility by striking over both 10 furlongs and a mile and a half. The Juddmonte-colt owned colt saw the form of his most recent success in the Group Three International Stakes franked by runner-up Trustyourinstinct in last weekend’s Curragh Cup and connections are encouraged to aim high, holding Group One ambitions before the current season draws to a close. “His form is rock solid and he is a horse we have always held in high regard,” said Juddmonte’s European racing manager Barry Mahon. “We’re just giving him a little freshen up while the ground is really fast and he will have options during Irish Champions Weekend at Leopardstown. He could run in the Irish Champion Stakes or there is also the Kilternan Stakes on the same weekend. One is over 10 furlongs and one is 12. “He’s a high-class horse and we hope we can finish off the season winning a Group One somewhere.” Mahon added: “Dermot has felt strongly the whole way along that he has Group one ability and it’s just been a long road and we’ve had a few setbacks and hold ups. “So we’re taking our time and being patient, but our aim is to be in Group One races before the year is out, whether that comes at Leopardstown in the Irish Champion or, if he was to run in the Kilternan, somewhere elsewhere later in the year.”
