Queally pays tribute to Canford Tom Queally has paid tribute to Canford Cliffs who was retired on Thursday. The jockey partnered Frankel to victory over the son of Tagula in the QIPCO Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood last week. Writing in his Racing UK blog he said: "Canford Cliffs was a great racehorse and to beat Goldikova says it all. Enormous credit must go to the Richard Hannon team, in enabling the horse to reach his full potential and campaign him so well. "And Richard Hughes suited him so well - those two were fantastic to watch in full flow. Hopefully Frankel and Canford's progeny can line up against each other in a few years." Queally tasted more Group One glory at Goodwood aboard Midday in the Nassau Stakes. "I was pretty confident going into the Nassau Stakes. She loves Goodwood and this time of year, and she confirmed the form of her Yorkshire Oaks win, by comfortably beating Snow Fairy. "She takes her racing well and I assume the Yorkshire Oaks again might be on the agenda, but that's up to Sir Henry and Prince Khalid," he added.
