Queen Anne ready for stiff test Willie McCreery seeks what would be a valuable success for Queen Anne when she tackles the C.L. & M.F. Weld Park Stakes at the Curragh on Sunday. The Sheikh Mohammed-owned daughter of Iffraaj got off the mark at the fourth time of asking when winning at Listowel earlier this month and steps up in class and trip here. "I'd hope the step up in trip brings about plenty of improvement," said McCreery, fresh from Fiesolana's win in the Group One Matron Stakes on Irish Champions Weekend. "We've always thought she'd be a seven-furlong filly but she showed so much pace we've given her a few opportunities over shorter. "The Ballydoyle horse (Qualify) is rated 102 and ran well in the Moyglare, but she's only won one out of five. "This is a step up but ours is very much a two-year-old type, so we may as well have a go and take a chance. "Obviously black type is the aim, it would be very important for the family. After you win a maiden in Ireland you've very little choice but to go for these races anyway."
