Quick doubles for Kennedy and Elliott with Kazansky The roles were reversed for Jack Kennedy, in the second division of the Bar 1 Casino Maiden Hurdle at Cork, as he notched a quick double on the card. Kennedy had crashed out at the final flight when in front on Manoir De Mirande in the opener, but benefitted this time as Le Labo fell at the last when looking set to collect. Kazansky had stayed on to dispute for second but still had a couple of lengths to find on Le Labo when that rival exited. The Gordon Elliott-trained gelding went on to record a length-and-three-quarter victory over Splendid Fellow. The 3/1 winner had been brought down on his first outing for the yard at Down Royal in late October, when set to finish runner-up. Elliott had also landed the first division with Lord Rouge and he said: "We had luck on our side although Jack said that, while he didn't know if he'd have beaten the faller, he was only getting into top gear at the time. We fell at the last hurdle in today's first race, so that's the game we're in. "He is a grand honest horse, he jumps and gallops so we'll have plenty of fun with him. We'll find something for him over Christmas now. "Damien Lavelle, from Damree Developments Ltd, owns him and this is his second horse with me, having previously had Flat horses."
