Rain too strong for Snowy The ex-Willie Mullins trained and 2008 Aintree Grand National placed Snowy Morning is finding the competition tough on his return to point to pointing this term, with the 10 year old gelding managing only sixth on his second start for new trainer Colin Bowe. Placed third in Comply Or Die’s National, Snowy Morning returned to point to pointing recently and was second on his return but could only manage sixth at Loughanmore on Saturday, behind winner Tyrone Golden Rain. Snowy Morning began his career in point to points, winning two of his six starts before winning nine races on the racecourse for Mullins. Tyrone Golden Rain, meanwhile, appears to be going the right way for trainer Paurick O’Connor, brother of Champion Rider Derek O’Connor. The 6yo son of Rainwatch has now won seven point to points and looks a bright prospect in the hunter chase division.
