Rakti holds York entry

Italian Derby winner star Rakti could make a belated British debut at York next month.

The Juddmonte International Stakes is under consideration for the colt, who was being primed for a possible tilt at the Coral Eurobet Eclipse Stakes until he was found to be slightly under the weather.

'He was a little bit off his food so we decided to give him a summer break with a view to running in the Arc,' part-owner Gary Tanaka`s racing manager Andy Smith said today.

'He may have a French campaign or the Juddmonte International is also a possibility, as he is entered.'

But a return visit to Britain looks odds-against for Tanaka`s French-trained Keltos, who won the Lockinge Stakes at Newbury in May.

'He is in the Sussex Stakes but he will probably go for the Prix Jacques Le Marois,' Smith said.

'He has done very, very well and is in good form. He could also run in the Prix Moulin with a view to going for the Breeders` Cup.'
